National Muslim Soup Kitchen Day, May 29, 2021

The Capital Area Council of Churches is a proud co-sponsor of the National Muslim Soup Kitchen Day, since this yearly event began in 2016.  National Muslim Soup Kitchen (NMSK) Day is a time when volunteers from all faith communities come together to serve community meals to people in need in their local communities. It began as part of the Muslim Soup Kitchen Project in the Capital Region, the community service arm of the Al-Hidaya Muslim Center, and has spread throughout the country.  The NMSK motto is “creating unity by serving humanity” and is a time to highlight how people of all faiths and backgrounds work together to put into action that which God asks of all of us – to love our neighbors as ourselves.

This year, National Muslim Soup Kitchen Day will be held on Saturday, May 29th.  Over 1,000 delicious meals will be delivered to various sites in the Capital Region. The NMSK Committee currently needs funds to cover the cost of food, packages, etc. If you would like to support this initiative, you can donate at:  https://mohid.co/go/kQ0j1oP .  For more information about the Muslim Soup Kitchen Project see: https://mskp.info/
